Vaasan ammattikorkeakoulu VAMK, University of Applied Sciences is a diversified and international higher education institution that offers education and research, development, and innovation services in technology, business economics, business information technology, and in health care and social services.
Our strengths are in energy technology and international business competence and in these fields we are in close cooperation with Vaasa region’s energy sector. VAMK has approximately 3300 students and 230 full-time staff members.
VAMK’s 12 full-time degree programmes provide experts in engineering, business administration, health care (nurses and public health nurses) and social services. Two of our degree programmes are taught completely in English. At VAMK you can also study flexibly alongside working: we offer several Bachelor’s and Professional Master’s degrees and Open University of Applied Sciences studies.
Thanks to VAMK’s close cooperation with working life, you can solve genuine working life assignments already during your studies. Practical training is an integral part of the degree and an excellent way to advance into ever more demanding tasks. Practical training also eases the transition into working life.
At VAMK’s campuses you get a real feel of the international atmosphere created by the 350 exchange students. And if you are itching to see the world, it is possible as an international exchange student or by conducting your practical training in a foreign country.
Design Centre Muova is a research and product development centre operating under VAMK. Muova offers design, research and training services and the customers consist of both companies and public organisations.
Muova initiates and implements research and development projects concerning market-based design and creative know-how. Projects are based on the needs of the companies and on Muova’s special competences.
West Coast Startup, a business incubator run by Muova, serves the students of VAMK and The University of Vaasa in recognizing, developing, and testing new business ideas.
