In less than ten years, BotniaCycling has grown into one of the largest cycling events in Finland, with more than 1,000 enthusiastic participants every year. The main routes of the competition, 106 and 67 km, run through beautiful, traditional Ostrobothnian landscapes. The expanses of fertile fields and the magnificent shores of the River Kyröjoki make BotniaCycling one of the most beautiful competition routes in Finland.
The participants of BotniaCycling include amateurs, enthusiasts and hard-core cyclists alike. Many local businesses also compose a team of their own and compete as a means of building team spirit. The shorter route involves no competition, but is just about fun and keeping fit; whereas the longer route has a fitness series, as well as separate competition series for men and women.
Alongside road cycling, the event now also offers a cross-country cycling tournament, Botnia MTB69. The cross-country route is technically easy, meaning that anyone who owns a BMX can take part in the competition.
